Lovely Day!

"The road to a friend's house is never long."
~ Danish Proverb

* can you spot the deer in my neighbor's driveway? *

 What a lovely day it is!  It's twentish outside, snow is falling, I'm dreaming of spring as a pot of chili simmers on the stove, and I'm thinking about the friends I am fortunate to visit with today without even stepping outside my door!

I'm excited to finally have the time to slow down a bit and pass along a very "lovely" and pretty award!

Just before Christmas, my sweet and talented friend, themomchef gifted me with this:

I'm amazed at the amount of recipes Christiane (themomchef) whips up. The theme of her blog is literally "taking on magazines one recipe at a time"! Not only is she an amazing cook, talented and entertaining writer, but she has an intriguing bio! I know you'll love her too... http://themomchef.blogspot.com/Thank you, Christiane!  I'm still smiling about the way our paths crossed! ;)

I've been wanting to gift the lovely blog award back to themomchef and pass it on to other lovely bloggers but the holidays caused a brief interruption. As delighted as I was to receive this sweet reward, I am also delighted to gift it to some of the friends I've been blessed with throughout the past year:

  • Here are the rules for accepting this award:
  • Acknowledge and thank the person that gave it to you;
  • Pass it along to fifteen (or so) other bloggers that you like and enjoy;
  • Then let those folks know that you've given them an award.
  • Click on the link and copy and paste this "lovely" award to your blog.

"A joy shared is a joy made double."
~ English Proverb

Oh my gosh, Lorraine! I feel truly blessed, honored and encouraged to be included in this list. I can't wait to meet everyone else. And it will be so much fun to pass this on! Thank you!

I was mesmerized by your photo. Looking at it, I *heard* the hush of all that snow! So immersed in all that wintry peacefulness, I would have missed the miracle of that deer if you hadn't pointed it out. And now you have me thinking ... how sometimes I settle for surface beauty and miss out on pure awe. Thanks for that too!

Oh my goodness, Lorraine! You have made me sooooo happy, I'm honored, humbled and blessed to have you as a friend, and I'm doubly honored that you would pass this award to me. I told my daughter the first month I started my blog, that it would be so wonderful to win "The One Lovely Blog" award and I am over the moon with happiness. The photo on your blog is so beautiful and really captures the quiet beauty of winter. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I wish you continued success with your lovely, beautiful blog.

Lorraine, I feel as though I really do know you even though we've never yet. While we have the blogging bond, what's even strong is the bond we have through Christ. Knowing that we're going to spend forever together makes me smile.

Thank you you for your kind words regarding me and my little piece of the blogosphere.

Also thank you for sharing that beautiful photo. Not only does it give me a moment of pause for the beauty of the surroundings and the lovely deer, but it makes me once again so very, very grateful that I moved away from the Chicago area and down to North Carolina. :)

Lorriane...yes I love Eldredge...I posted on his book "Love and War" this summer. I read "Waking the Dead" years ago...about the time as the
"Fresh Brewed Life" and need to read it again...also all his other books. Great, great...what the books meant at age 40 and now 50 after so many pit visits is totally different...but you know what God is still God!!

You have such a way with words! Contratulations on your poetic as well as photography talents. I have never been given an award before, yahoo and thank you! There is one rule I may break for a while... as I am still catching on to the blog world, I won't have too many to forward this award too. I do appreciate all of the contact blogs you have that I can look into. It continues to amaze me the amount of support and inspiration received from reading other blogs. Again, thank you!

Dear Marie,
I also wanted to put a P.S. on your note because I didn't want you to feel like you had to do anything with this award other than accept it!

But, since I was honored to receive it, I couldn't resist passing it on to some other lovely people like you! You deserve more than an award...and the best award is the one we find in Christ!

Your faith is a testimony and I am honored to know you and to pray for you! Blessings sweet friend! xo

bella! you have touched me in ways I find difficult to describe with human words, I know it was complete and utter Divine Intervention that brought us to one another's doorstep....how can we not smile when we think that a recipe contest is the platform that God used to bring our two worlds together, and I have not been the same since. I will never stop marveling over that. I thank you truly for this award, but even more so for shining your light so brightly in my world. I am honored to call you not just friend, but sister.....
