The air is so fresh and sweet today!

We're enjoying the May temperatures;
 flowers in full bloom all around us;
and the vibrancy of the colors, especially the way the sun shines upon the newly cut green lawn!

We are spending time on the patio, in the parks and family barbeques.  The kids are collecting a few grass stains as they play touch football and the dog seems to be smiling, as she springs into the air to catch the frisbee!

Of course there are a few negatives...
it's bug season again!

Fly’s  Last  Supper!

Fly swatter in hand he sits

Jumping up with each buzz,

Head spinning, arms flailing in fits,

Then down again to wait…

It’s o.k. I’ve set a good bait!

Come on back,

Grab a snack,

I’ll give you a good whack!

I don’t have anywhere to go,

Soooooooo….

Keep taunting me,

You’ll be history!

Careful who you mess with,

I’ve been around the block,

I’ll fix your clock!

Fast little bugger…

Landing on one window then another,

Zipping by from light to light!

Trying to sneak up on me and take a bite?!

Come on in for a landing….It’s alright,

I’ll be your last supper…

GOTCHA….

Nighty night!!!

Oh laughing...we have the flies this year and my daughter-in-law asked me where the fly swatter was and I didn't have a clue...now I need one like yours!

I think that is the cutest darn fly swatter I've ever seen. My daughter goes crazy when a fly gets in the house. She needs you to get them for her, huh. I'm so glad the weather is getting nice for you. It's so nice here, I can hardly drag myself inside. I'd stay out late into the evening if it wasn't for those darn bugs, lol. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

Same here, Gina! :) I love being outdoors when the weather is so nice...but the bugs are ravenous! My poem was inspired by a memory of my dad a couple of years before he passed away...he was fiesty until the end...now I'm the fiesty one! I have to say... his fly swatter wasn't as cute as mine ~ LOL

That is such a cute poem, Lorraine!
Love the cute fly swatter, good thing that we don't need it here in our area, but we get plenty of mosquitos!

The flower is so pretty, I'm pinning it, if it's OK with you!
Thank you so much for you sweet comment on my guest post with my daughter:D

Haha! Love it! Most people would be chasing the fly, hunting it down to the end, but my dear Lorraine writes a poem, fly swatter in hand. Those are some lucky flies!

Hasn't this been a fabulous May? I'm thinking the 90's this weekend might be a little hot...but I'd rather have that than a blizzard! I love your ode to the fly...LOL :) Have a fabulous holiday weekend, my friend~

you should write children's books...sophia would love this, I can't wait to read it to her tomorrow when she wakes up. Move over Dr Seuss and Shel Silverstein...Lorraine Brown is on the scene...

I love your photos of the flowers! It is so dry right now, I'm just trying to keep my flowers in bloom. It reminds me of a wet, fertile spring!
