AS THE WILLOW WEEPS

Tall trees grounded,

firm foundation,

roots stable in the earth's floor -

fierce winds

snatch tossing limbs,

as they break from the solid core.

fixed branches...

reach for the sun -

praising heaven, open wide...

springtime showers have begun,

outstretched fingers grasp for life!

now the willow hangs its head,

docile limbs weighed down,

yielding to the ground,

as if all hope is dead.

"No! Not So!" - the red bird sings!

think of pure and lovely things!

sweet as the kiss of the morning dew,

and the warmth of the sun embracing you...

have faith dear willow - do not cry,

or hide your face from grace...

have faith that spring will soon arrive,

and heaven's breath

brings forth new life!

the time is near ~ we can expect...

though birthing pains persist...

remember this...

our eyes are not on what is seen...

As the willow weeps for spring!

Wonderful! We're experiencing that today as snow falls on daffodils and tulips. There's a freeze warning for tonight so my newly planted herbs will be covered in a blanket.

What a beautiful poem, Lorraine. Another master piece! Love the pitures you have on the side to go along with this beautiful poem too. :)

Hope you and your family are all doing well. Please take care my dear friend.

Man, I wish I could write poetry like that. Your timing for rhyming is flawless, and the message is so creative and purposeful. Have you written any books? If not, you should!

Hoping to see that red bird any day now...

Beautiful, Lorraine! So grateful that God always offers hope!

I wanted to respond to your comment over at Life Lessons: Thanks for stopping by! Releasing things to God's control IS so very important! I'm currently dealing with a few situations that have required exactly that. So thankful that God knows what He's doing! Things are best left in His capable hands. God bless!

Lorraine this indeed is another masterpiece!!! As the willow weeps for spring...sigh....I think so many of us can relate to that, not only longing for the warm weather and new life awakening our chilly souls from a wintery slumber, but longing for the hope and promise of a new season in our own lives, and the lives of those around us who are pushing through a season of gray....your light shines brightly sweet bella, like a lamp on a hill....

I really appreciate all of your sweet comments!
I see so many parallels to our own lives through nature...especially here at this time of the year. Yearning for the earth to awaken and come back to life...as well our souls awakening - freedom returns!
