Time for Soup!

As we get ready
to...

turn back the clocks,

crank up the heat,

add layers of socks to warm our chilly feet...

we'll bring out the down and the flannel sheets,

And cook up something hot to eat!

This chill in the air is all the more reason,
For good hearty food...

...it's back to soup season

I   love   this   soup...

Winter Squash Soup w/Chipotle Peppers & Cream

This recipe just says Comfort to me!  Many of you already know that my husband runs the other way when this soup is served...

I  j u s t   d o n 't   u n d e r s t a n d !

Of course, each time I make it, I love to ask him...
"did you ever taste it?"
That goes over well!  ;)

As my husband sticks with his sandwich and chips,
I'll enjoy this heartwarming soup and the leftovers!

Oh, since I last made this, I've switched to "gluten free" pasta for my pasta sauce variation of this recipe...I love quinoa pasta -
I like it for its taste, texture, and health benefits...

!! Don't forget to turn back your clocks this week-end !!
They say we should do it at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday...
I've never figured out why!
REALLY....does anyone wait up until 2 a.m.
to change their clocks?!

My husband always changes every clock in the house
right around 6 p.m. on Saturday...

but that "throws me for a loop"...

that's why I make this soup!  (wink)   ;)

here's the recipe:

The soup looks heavenly. I like the combination of butternut and acorn squashes. As you gluten intolerant?

I made squash and pear soup today...and I hope my hubby will at least take a taste :) And I love the addition of chipotles and cream in yours...I wouldn't refuse a yummy bowl of it! (especially if I could eat it with you as a fabulous dining companion :))

Hope you're having a marvelous weekend, my friend~

What a delightful post on setting back the clock! Your soup looks and sounds delicious, however like you I will have to eat by myself because my "meat and potato" hubby thinks soup is only for when you are sick-ha!

Enjoy your day with blessings and thanks!

This soup really is a masterpiece....my husband would be with your husband on the couch with a sandwich and chips LOL....sigh....more for us! I love the idea of using quinoa pasta....brilliant bella! It's definitely chilly today, I'm loving the coziness in the house right now, I'm in that snuggling hibernating state of mind for sure. This is going to be one low key winter for sure, I can't wait!

I'm running...I'm running for all I am worth...and I still can't catch him...your husband that is...and all the while...I hear this female voice behind me hollering, "have you even tried it?" lol

I read the recipe and I think I know the problem...there's no hamburger, steak, or pig in the soup.

LOVE the soup poem! And I know the feeling when two people can't agree on a meal. I love anything with butternut squash, but hubby hates it. So I WILL make this soup...for myself! :-)

I have been out of the loop for so long. Thanks for being faithful to comment on my blog. And of course, I am happy for return to yours. That winter squash soup sounds delicious and I think I could make it in a crock pot since I am displaced from my kitchen. Prayers appreciated for a sensible settlement from the insurance company...It has been eight weeks and no offer has been put on the table. They are still procrastinating, although they have accepted liability. Thanks....

Thanks Warren! I hope you do try the soup...I think Stan was right...my husband might like it if there was some kind of meat in it :)
Yes, I do take the pictures on my blog (except for the pumpkin bowl w/ the soup and the quinoa boxes) I love taking pics!

A truly amazing, beautiful, that would grace the Thanksgiving table this year! (the question is, as with your hubby, how many of the men, or kids would be willing to eat it!)...more for us, ladies, for sure! Yumm!
